Certified Nurse Mid-Wives at Warren General
Warren General Hospital’s Women’s Health Services is pleased to offer the skills and expertise of certified nurse midwives. They are trained health care professionals who provide evaluation, assessment, treatment and referral if necessary, for primary health care for women. CNM’s are registered nurses who have completed advanced studies in women’s health care and midwifery.
According to the American College of Nurse Midwives, care-giving by CNM’s includes pre-conception counseling, care during pregnancy and childbirth, normal gynecological services and care of the peri- and post-menopausal woman.
CNM’s offer safe health care services and high quality health care for women. They will take a complete family and personal medical history and provide a thorough and gentle examination. Health concerns, safe sex practices, HIV/AIDS, can be discussed. Birth control counseling, and follow-up exams are available.
CNM’s are licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and are certified by a national exam. They are held to the rigorous standards of practice set by the American College of Nurse Midwives.
The nurse midwives at Warren General work in conjunction with the Obstetricians and Gynecologists on staff at the hospital.
