[WW I] Old Riding Crop

Dear Sir:
A neighbour of mine found an old riding crop in her Grandfather"s Barn and is trying to find a little information about it.
There is a small metal tag on it with the inscription "E.C. Francis from 165th S Battery RGA or RCA Aug. 1916." . I Believe that this Battery belonged to Canada but the letters RGA or RCA may stand for something else. Any light you can shed on the history of this riding crop would be greatly appreciated, or if not, could you please direct me to a web-site that may have more information. Thank-you and hope you can help me in this matter. Please contact me at....perrinking@yahoo.ca

Best Regards: Fred Jordt.
