Hi Steven,

Thanks a lot once again for your help. I suppose all states have some type of state national guard museum, so I will try all of the eastern state national guard offices. I believe it must be from an eastern seaboard state since at the time, 1845-1850 the midwestern/southern states and cities were too poor, "wild" and undeveloped to have such an elaborate uniform (or so I've been told). I know there were plenty of local city/county dragoon militia units in some states at that time. If this uniform was from one of them, it might be even more difficult to identify than a state uniform.
