These records served as my first exposure to the Company of Military Historians. I bought them through THE SOLDIER SHOP on Madison Avenue in NYC (now gone) as a kid (actually my parents bought them for my brother and me for Christmas various years). I actually wore out the Revolutionary War record and had to buy a second one (as I was/am a rudimental drummer and played along with them prior to my years with Fife and Drum units).
It would be a excellent project for the CMH to, at minimum, take the masters of these recordings and offer them in CD format or even as podcasts.
There is an entire new generation of young military historians who have not had ready access to the many CMH offerings that were available through THE SOLDIER SHOP or 21st century technology versions of the Company's landmark experiment in autentically recreating period martial music.
