[Civil War] Civil War Soldier

Jeremiah Finley arrived in the United States from Ireland in 1860 and served 4 years in the Civil War. What Civil War Regiment was he a member of?
Jeremiah Finley enlisted in the 7 U.S. Cavalry Sept 18, 1868 in Chicago and died at the Battle of the Little Bighorn June 25, 1876.
I have been unable to find what Civil War Regiment which he was a member. Any help of information would be greatly appreciated.
