While going through an old issue of MC&H, I stumbled across a short article on Civil War Wooden Ammunition Boxes, by William F. McGuinn, Spring 1974, page 50-52.
The text has information on artillery ammunition boxes:
"Those containing shot are painted olive; shells, black; spherical case shot, red; and canisters, a light drab."And there is a table from the "Ordnance Manual for the Use of the Officers of the United States Army," Third Edition, Philadelphia, 1862 that gives box size and color for a number of different weapons, but few of those you list.
