Hello Karla
The East Florida Rangers was a corps raised by the governor of East Florida, and as such was provided for by that province, through the British Treasury Office. There is little uniform information on them, other than they had one. One of the governor's contingent accounts for them mentions purchasing 56 "suits of clothing" for the corps in 1777.
The Rangers were not a militia unit. There was a separate and distinct East Florida Militia. The Rangers were a local corps raised bby a governor, similar to the Queen's Own Loyal Virginia Regiment raised by Lord Dunmore. The Rangers started their career as a mounted regiment.
The East Florida Rangers ended their career on 24 June 1779. At that point a new corps was created on the Provincial establishment, called the King's (Carolina) Rangers, also called just the King's Rangers or King's Florida Rangers. This unit at the end of the war had a green short coat with red collar and cuffs. This uniform would have been drawn from the Provincial stores. It is doubtful this was their uniform through the war though, as uniforms often changed from year to year.
