M. C., first, according to the Adjutant General's "List of Military Posts Established in the United States From its Earliest Settlement to the Present Time", there is no such animal as either a Fort or Camp Grimm or Gunn.
Here are the "G" camps, forts, etc. in AL or GA.
Ft. Gadsden, AL - Near Spanish Fort.
Ft. Galnes, AL - On Dauphin Island, Mobile Bay, on [sic] sight of old Ft. Tom Bigbee [sic].
Ft. Gaines, GA - On Chattahooche R., in Clay Co.; now town of that name.
Camp Gilman, GA - At Americus.
Camp Gilmer, GA - Oskeenfe-okee.
Gladden Redoubt, AL - Near Mobile.
Glass Redoubt, AL - Alabama & Tombigbee R.
Battery at Goat's Pt., AL - On Tybee Island.
Ft. Golphin, GA - At Augusta.
Camp Graham, GA - On Tybee Island.
Granger Gen. Hospital, AL - Huntsville
Battery Grant, AL - Tybee Island.
Grant's Island Reservation - In Mobile Bay.
Fortified Camp ar Great Horshoe Bend, AL - On Tallapoosa R.; called by Indians "Tohopeka."
Battery on Great Warsaw Island, GA - Near Savannah.
Ft. Greene, GA - On St. Mary's River
Battery on Green Island, GASorry about the ugly formatting of the message but by the time I got through extracting this, looks were not the priority.
