I looked at best reference I have on the State of Michigan issue uniform. The dark blue jacket is loose like the issue sack coat and about the same length. The coat has 9 buttons and shoulder straps. The cuffs appear to be plain without any buttons. The coat has a small stand collar. Trousers are dark blue and seem not to have any stripes even on sergeant’s trousers. There is no information on the kepis but issue kepis were probably worn. It would be unlikely the any Michigan troops left the state with white equipment belts. Officers appear to wear standard officer frock coats and dark trousers.
