Just a quick note here...Gerry Embleton did some artwork on the Rangers, some time ago, and I know it was in an old issue of TRADITION, and republished in a book called SOLDIER, I believe. Anyway, he depicted a Stockbridge scout in a hunting shirt and leggings, very similar to a ranger. There was no headgear but the hair was worn in a scalplock, and armed with a musket.
