Hello. My name is Lance Comfort and live in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. I am a Navy Vietnam Vet and have always enjoyed history, particularly American History. Last year my wife Linda bought me a metal detector, and she has not seen much of me since. I have located a war of 1812 encampment right in my back yard. Our farm was built in 1845 and the field was owned my Colonel Isreal Dana Putnam who raised a militia in 1814 and apparently they were camped out here during that year and apparently the field was used prior to that for Vermont Militia.

This discovery along with other items I have found has really got me interested in the Revolutionary war and war of 1812. I look forward to being part of this forum and hope that I will be able to add something now and then

Oh yeah, my day job is that of a Nursing Home Administrator which I have been for 30 years.
